TOUR HIGHLIGHTS

This 13-day journey discovers the New Wave and traditional Spanish celebration of amazing cuisine, wine and design.

Our fantastic Spain programme commences in the Catalonian capital of Barcelona, that most seductive and soulful of cities where brave modernity and innovation meets a Mediterranean vibe.

Accommodations range from boutique relais et châteaux to exceptionally charming 5star boutique country inns to urban chic hotels.
Unlike many other tours, we have no hidden extras. All our fabulous meals are included with matched wines, as are excursions, special wines tastings, superb cooking demonstrations, internal air flights, and most of the special trimmings.

We include wines with meals and stunning dining experiences with such applauded Spanish chefs as Adonis Luis Aduriz at Mugaritz, Juan Mari Arzak in San Sebastian and Xavier Pellicer at Abac.
We travel at a pace so you can deeply savour the experience and where possible we avoid long journeys by road.

Four nights are spent in the velvety landscapes of La Rioja and Navarra through which the Camino passes: an astounding wine region with adventurous bodega architecture, charming walled old towns, and seriously lovely wines.

San Sebastian boasts more Michelin stars than Paris per capita, and a passion for all things gastronomique fuels the Basque heart like nothing else.

A brief but dazzling stay in Bilbao allows an appreciation of its stunning Museum ‘el goog’ and its makeover from shabby industrial to urbane chic.

The last four nights are entrée to the charms of island life on Mallorca in the Serra de Tramunta ranges with its stone villages and a sparkling rugged coastline perfumed with lemon groves and pine forests.

Spain and her people exude exuberance beyond compare, boast a rich food and wine culture that is passionately celebrated at traditional and innovative levels, and somehow live life at a joyful pace hardly known any more in other countries.
